ONSLAUGHT

Onslaught is regarded as the undisputed king of British thrash metal and one of the pioneers of the genre worldwide. Formed in 1982 by guitarist Nige Rockett and bassist Paul Hill, the band has released seven studio albums and two live records to date. They gained international prominence in the 1980s with the classics Power From Hell (1985) and The Force (1986), both released on vinyl in Brazil by Woodstock Discos. “I know both albums had a huge impact in Brazil, and I remember receiving lots of letters from Brazilian fans,” Nige Rockett once said.

With performances in over 70 countries — from Lebanon to Latvia, Brazil to China — Onslaught has played at some of the biggest festivals on the planet, sharing stages with legends like Motörhead, Slayer, Venom, Anthrax, and Behemoth. In 2022, the band was inducted into the Metal Hall of Fame during the Maryland Death Fest, crowning four decades of sonic aggression. Over the years, Onslaught has featured three notable vocalists, including Sy Keeler (notably on The Force, Killing Peace, Sounds of Violence, and VI) and the late Steve Grimmett (Grim Reaper), who lent his voice to the no-less- classic In Search of Sanity (1989). Currently, Dave Garnett fronts the band, bringing a fresh dose of brutality praised on the album Generation Antichrist (2020). The current lineup — led by Nige Rockett — includes Dave Garnett (vocals), Wayne Dorman (guitar), Jeff Williams (bass), and James Perry (drums). This formation has injected new energy into the band, as evidenced by the strong reception of Generation Antichrist, which topped U.S. independent charts. In 2024, Onslaught signed with Reigning Phoenix Music and released the double album Origins of Aggression (2025), celebrating 40 years of Power From Hell. The record features re-recorded classics and punk/metal covers that influenced the band’s sound.

The 2025 world tour is already underway, promising more shows, releases, and celebrations of Onslaught’s enduring thrash metal legacy — a journey defined by brutal anthems like “Power From Hell,” “Metal Forces,” “Killing Peace,” “66’Fucking’6,” and “Bow Down to the Clowns”, which remain beloved by metal fans across generations.
