Glenn Hughes, former bassist and vocalist of Deep Purple, internationally acclaimed as “The Voice of Rock” and a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, is currently the frontman of the supergroup Black Country Communion. He will be performing at Bangers Open Air 2025.

His set will celebrate his tenure with Deep Purple, featuring legendary classics such as “Burn,” “Stormbringer,” “Might Just Take Your Life,” and “Mistreated.” Additionally, it will include tracks from the MK IV era with Tommy Bolin, like “Gettin’ Tighter” and “You Keep On Moving.” Hughes will also perform hits from the MK II era, including “Highway Star” and “Smoke on the Water.”

With 14 solo albums, Hughes has collaborated with a wide range of artists and bands, including Trapeze, Gary Moore, Black Sabbath, John Norum, Tony Iommi, Rata Blanca, Phenomena, Voodoo Hill, California Breed, and The Dead Daisies. He has also been involved in projects such as Hughes/Thrall and the Hughes Turner Project.

Hughes began his career with Trapeze, where he recorded three albums. Subsequently, he joined Deep Purple, marking the start of the MK III era, and contributed to classic albums like Burn (1974), Stormbringer (1974), and Come Taste the Band (1975). Known for his distinctive style, Hughes is one of the few musicians who skillfully blends hard rock, soul, and funk. Stevie Wonder even described him as his “favorite white singer.”

Since 1992, Hughes has toured across Europe, Japan, and South America, promoting his solo albums. More recently, he has gained recognition as a member of Black Country Communion, alongside Joe Bonamassa, Derek Sherinian, and Jason Bonham, with four albums released to date, the latest being BCCIV (2017).
