W.E.T.

The festival Bangers Open Air 2027 will feature the supergroup W.E.T., one of the most respected names in contemporary melodic hard rock. The group will bring a setlist to the Brazilian audience based on tracks from their five studio albums. Formed in 2008 by musicians from acclaimed bands such as Work of Art, Eclipse, and Talisman, W.E.T. consolidated its reputation with a sound that combines catchy hooks, modern production, and a fresh approach to melodic hard rock.

Following their self-titled 2009 debut, which helped shape the genre's direction, Robert Säll (the "W" from Work of Art), Erik Mårtensson (the "E" from Eclipse), and Jeff Scott Soto (the "T" from Talisman) took on the challenging commitment of continuing the project with Rise Up (2013). This was followed by Earthrage (2018) and Retransmission (2021), in addition to the live album One Live in Stockholm (2014) and their latest studio work, Apex, released in 2025.

Alongside Säll, Mårtensson, and Soto, the lineup also features Magnus Henriksson (guitar, Eclipse), Andreas Passmark (bass, Narnia and Royal Hunt), and Jamie Borger (drums, Talisman and Treat). For Brazilian fans of AOR and melodic hard rock, W.E.T.'s confirmation represents a rare opportunity to see one of the genre's most talented lineups perform live.

"I love working with W.E.T. because the songwriting is so strong and everyone is focused on making great music. I love this band," praised Soto. "It's always a challenge to find that ideal window in our schedules when everyone is available, not to mention that Jeff lives in California while the rest of us live in Sweden. But I think that also drives our ambition when we finally manage to get together. We know we don't get many opportunities to do this, so when they come up, we have to make the absolute most of them," added Mårtensson.
