THROW ME TO THE WOLVES

Throw Me to the Wolves is one of the attractions at Bangers Open Air, bringing the strength of Brazilian melodic death metal to the festival. Formed in São Paulo, in June 2023, by guitarist Gui Calegari and vocalist Diogo Nunes, the quintet also features Fabrício Sato on guitars, Fabio Fulini on bass, and Maycon Avelino on drums. With influences from Soilwork, Arch Enemy, and In Flames, the band combines heavy riffs, guttural vocals, and striking melodies, drawing inspiration from the tradition of the so-called Gothenburg Sound, a movement that helped define Swedish melodic death metal.

In May 2025, the group independently released their debut album, "Days of Retribution", which presents their musical identity and gathers special guest appearances by Björn "Speed" Strid, vocalist of Soilwork and The Night Flight Orchestra, Flávio Salin, Fernando Schaefer, and Karina Menascé. The visual identity of the record was developed by Carlos Fides, known for his work with Angra, Kamelot, Evergrey, and Edu Falaschi. The release marked an important step in the consolidation of Throw Me To The Wolves, who have been building their trajectory with original production and prominent partnerships in the metal scene.

The band's evolution is also reflected on stage. Since the beginning of their activities, Throw Me to the Wolves has shared the stage with names such as Killswitch Engage, Carcass, Infected Rain, Batushka, Possessed, Nervosa, Angra, Exodus, HammerFall, and Amorphis. In January 2026, they embarked on their first European tour, joining the Motocultor Festival Across Europe alongside Nanowar of Steel and Uuhai. Following that, they opened shows for In Flames and As I Lay Dying, and participated, as Angra's special guests, in selected dates of the 30-year celebration of "Holy Land", an album released in 1996 and one of the emblematic works of Brazilian metal.

The performance at Bangers Open Air represents yet another step in the expansion of Throw Me to the Wolves' trajectory and an opportunity to take their sound to an even larger audience. Parallel to their concert schedule, the band is working on the composition and production of their second studio album, the successor to "Days of Retribution", scheduled for release in the first half of 2027. With a trajectory marked by rapid achievements, presence on major stages, and growing international projection, the quintet continues to strengthen its identity in melodic death metal and broaden the horizons of a pack that is just getting started.
