Within Temptation

Within Temptation, the Dutch metal powerhouse, is one of the most influential bands in the global scene, led by vocalist Sharon den Adel and guitarist Robert Westerholt. Their musical DNA is a powerful fusion of symphonic metal, gothic metal, alternative metal, doom, and elements of pop music. The band stands out for its unique ability to blend the heaviness of metal with epic orchestral arrangements and Sharon’s melodic and captivating vocals.

Their debut album, Enter, released in 1997, introduced the band to the scene. However, international recognition came with their second release, Mother Earth (2000), driven by the massive success of the single Ice Queen, which reached No. 3 on the Dutch charts. From that point on, Within Temptation solidified itself as a global phenomenon, launching a sequence of award-winning albums. The Silent Force (2004) marked the consolidation of their unmistakable symphonic metal style. In 2007, The Heart of Everything represented a major milestone, becoming the band’s first album to enter the prestigious Billboard 200 in the United States. Their pursuit of innovation led to a grand fusion of metal and pop elements in The Unforgiving(2011), followed by the highly successful Hydra (2014).

Today, Within Temptation—winners of multiple international awards including the World Music Award, MTV Europe Music Award, and Metal Hammer Award—is promoting their ninth studio album, Bleed Out, released in 2023. In this work, the band demonstrates remarkable thematic maturity, actively addressing global social and political issues such as the war in Ukraine and injustices around the world.

Known for their constant evolution, Within Temptation refuses to rest on their laurels, incorporating modern elements of symphonic rock and melodic metal while never compromising the quality or depth of their sound.
