Tuatha de Danann

Three decades of history have placed Tuatha de Danann in a unique position in Brazilian heavy music. A pioneer of national folk metal, the band from Minas Gerais arrives at Bangers Open Air 2027 with a career marked by the fusion of heavy guitars, ancestral melodies, traditional instruments, and creative freedom. Formed in Varginha, Minas Gerais, in the mid-1990s—originally under the name Pendragon—the group released the demo The Last Pendragon (1996), followed by Faeryage (1998) and the self-titled album Tuatha de Danann (1999), consolidating a sound that blended Heavy Metal, folk, Celtic, and medieval elements.

Their profile grew with Tingaralatingadun (2001), The Delirium Has Just Began... (2002), and Trova di Danú (2004), works that expanded the mix of Rock, Metal, and instruments such as flutes, violins, craviolas, bagpipes, and harmonicas. In 2005, the band embarked on its first international tour across France and Germany, culminating in a memorable performance at Wacken Open Air via the Metal Battle, cementing their name on the international circuit.

Following a hiatus after the DVD Acoustic Live (2009), Tuatha de Danann returned to the stage in 2013 and launched a new chapter with Dawn of a New Sun (2015). In the following years, they released The Tribes of Witching Souls (2019), In Nomine Éireann (2020), and The Nameless Cry (2023), reaffirming their identity and ongoing creativity.
