The German band The Other, one of the best-known names in European horror punk, will be one of the acts performing at Bangers Open Air 2027 in São Paulo. Formed in 2002, the group has built a career marked by the combination of punk rock, heavy metal influences, and a gothic atmosphere inspired by the horror universe. Over more than two decades, the five members have played at major European festivals, in addition to performing across the globe.
Their performance at Bangers Open Air comes at an especially significant time for the group. In 2025, they achieved their highest chart position in Germany to date with "Alienated," which reached number six on the Official German Album Charts and second place on the German rock and metal chart. The album marked a direct return to the band's punk roots, combining raw energy, striking melodies, gothic elements, and the horror aesthetic that has accompanied the group since its inception. The record also featured the return of founding bassist Andy Only.
The Other's stage history includes performances alongside names such as Danzig, Alice Cooper, Misfits, The 69 Eyes, The Cult, Ignite, Eisbrecher, The Damned, and Wednesday 13. The band has also pushed beyond the boundaries of rock stages, appearing on television shows and productions from networks like MTV, ARTE, SAT.1, and RTL.
The aesthetic created by the group expanded into other platforms as well: The Other's trajectory includes a comic book published by Panini and an audio drama that brought together guests from various fields of music and culture, including Mille Petrozza (Kreator), Michael Rhein (In Extremo), Joachim Witt, and writer Wolfgang Hohlbein.
With "Alienated," The Other reinforced an identity that turns references from horror cinema, monster stories, and gothic imagery into a combination of punk, metal, and memorable choruses. At Bangers Open Air 2027, the band will bring this mix of heavy sound, theatricality, and horror punk to the Brazilian audience.
