TAURUS

Four decades after beginning its trajectory, Taurus continues to look to the future without abandoning the characteristics that built its identity in Brazilian thrash metal. The Rio de Janeiro-based band celebrates over 40 years of history with the "Taurus 1985" tour, which spans different phases of their career and will arrive at Bangers Open Air in 2027. Rudi Sgarbi (vocals), Cláudio Bezz (guitar), Felipe Melo (bass), and Sérgio Bezz (drums) perform a repertoire encompassing the group's entire discography—formed in 1985 in Rio de Janeiro and first discovered through the show Guitarras on Rádio Fluminense (A Maldita).

The debut album, Signo de Taurus (1986), became an important landmark of the early metal scene in Rio de Janeiro. Subsequently, the lyrics shifted to English, yielding Trapped in Lies (1988) and Pornography (1989). Following a hiatus between 1994 and 2006, Taurus resumed activity in 2007 with remastered re-releases of their albums and an opening show for Testament at Canecão. Their studio return materialized with Fissura (2010), followed by appearances in projects such as Super Peso Brasil and Brasil Heavy Metal, alongside the live CD/DVD Taurus Ao Vivo 30 Anos (2016).

The band's most recent era kicked off with the single "Existe Um Lugar?" (2019), which featured Alex Camargo (Krisiun) and preceded the album V (2020). Since then, the band has released the singles "Lunático" (2023) and "Dark Ages" (2026), the latter featuring a guest appearance by Prika Amaral (Nervosa). The song precedes a new album of unreleased material, reinforcing Taurus's drive to maintain its core identity while continuing to push its journey forward.
