Now forging ahead with his solo career, the legendary Slayer guitarist stays true to the punishing sound that made him a global icon. Backed by an all-star lineup featuring Mark Osegueda (vocals, Death Angel), Phil Demmel (guitar, Vio-Lence, Machine Head, Category 7), Kyle Sanders (bass, Hellyeah, MonstrO), and Paul Bostaph (drums, Forbidden, Exodus, Systematic, Testament, Slayer), King is bringing the fire with his debut solo album, “From Hell I Rise.”

“The most important thing for me was having my friends in this band, not just some random musicians,” King told Kerrang!, emphasizing the personal connection behind the project.

As one of Slayer’s founding members, alongside the late Jeff Hanneman, Kerry King helped define the sound of thrash metal in the early 1980s. As Slayer’s primary songwriter, he remained at the forefront of the genre for decades, staying relevant even after the band’s dissolution in 2019. During Slayer’s hiatus (2019-2024), King set his solo vision in motion. Now, with his trademark blistering speed, crushing riffs, and savage downpicking, he’s back to deliver pure sonic devastation, and Brazilian fans will witness it firsthand when Kerry King lays waste to Bangers Open Air 2025.
