The heavy metal band HIBRIA, hailing from Porto Alegre (RS), kicked off its journey in 1996 forging a career packed with success and hard-earned recognition. Their breakthrough came in December 2004 with the release of their debut album, Defying the Rules, which cemented their name in both Brazil and Japan. The album topped the sales charts in its category for six weeks at HMV stores in Japan and was highly praised by critics and readers of Burrn! magazine as one of the best releases of the year.

This album represents a significant sonic and artistic evolution for the band, which currently consists of Victor Emeka (vocals), Abel Camargo and Vicente Telles (guitars), Benhur Lima (bass), and Otávio Quiroga (drums).

In 2024, HIBRIA once again reinforced its presence on major stages by performing at the Best of Blues Festival alongside Zakk Sabbath, has performed several times in Japan including at Evoken Fest in Tokyo, further strengthening their deep connection with their Japanese fanbase.

This album represents a significant sonic and artistic evolution for the band, which currently consists of Victor Emeka (vocals), Abel Camargo and Vicente Telles (guitars), Benhur Lima (bass), and Otávio Quiroga (drums).

The band has left its mark at major events such as Rock in Rio and Loud Park in Japan, sharing the stage with legendary acts like Metallica, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, and Megadeth. Their tours in Japan have always been a massive success, with sold-out shows and live recordings in Tokyo, available on CD and DVD, consistently reaching the top of the charts.

In 2024, HIBRIA once again reinforced its presence on major stages by performing at the Best of Blues Festival alongside Zakk Sabbath, one of the most significant music events in Brazil. Later in the year, in October, the band returned to Japan for another length of shows, performing at Evoken Fest in Tokyo, further strengthening their deep connection with their Japanese fanbase.

This year they’re set to rock on Bangers Open Air 2025.
