EDGUY

The German band Edguy is confirmed for Bangers Open Air 2027, in a return to Brazilian stages after years without live activities. Formed in 1992 in Fulda, the group consolidated its name in the international scene with a sound that combines elements of power metal and heavy metal, marked by fast-paced riffs, elaborate melodies, and striking choruses.

Over more than three decades, the band led by vocalist Tobias Sammet, who performed at the festival with Avantasia, released albums that became references in the genre, such as "Vain Glory Opera" (1998), "Theater of Salvation" (1999), "Mandrake" (2001), and "Hellfire Club" (2004). Over the years, the group developed its own sound, combining the roots of power metal with heavy metal and hard rock elements, winning over fans in Europe, the Americas, and other international markets.

Among the great moments of their career are songs like "King of Fools", "Superheroes", "Vain Glory Opera", "Tears of a Mandrake", and "Lavatory Love Machine", which became references in their repertoire. The album "Rocket Ride" (2006) expanded the presence of hard rock elements in their sound, while "Age of the Joker" (2011) and "Space Police – Defenders of the Crown" (2014) demonstrated the band's ability to explore different musical paths without losing their identity.

Since their first time in Brazil, in 2002, Edguy has returned to the country on several occasions and is now preparing to reunite with the Brazilian audience at Bangers Open Air 2027, in a show that will also be part of the farewell tour announced for 2027. The lineup brings together Tobias Sammet, Jens Ludwig and Dirk Sauer (guitars), Tobias Exxel (bass), and Felix Bohnke (drums).
