One of the most respected independent forces in Brazilian metal is among the confirmed acts for Bangers Open Air 2027, marking the band's long-awaited return to national stages after eight years. With more than three decades of history, seven studio albums, a performance at Rock in Rio, and an international career built on the road, Claustrofobia arrives at the festival bringing all the experience and intensity accumulated over years of performing across Brazil, Europe, and the United States.

Formed in 1994 by brothers Marcus and Caio D’Angelo, Claustrofobia has always made independence, powerful live shows, and a distinct identity its defining hallmarks. Driven by an explosive blend of thrash metal, death metal, and hardcore, the band built a career marked by albums such as Claustrofobia (2000), Thrasher (2002), Fulminant (2005), I See Red (2009), Peste (2011), Download Hatred (2016), and Unleeched (2022), alongside hundreds of shows and tours, earning a solid space in the Brazilian underground before expanding internationally.

Among the standout moments of this journey was 2019, when the band played at Rock in Rio and was selected to open Slayer’s final concert in São Paulo following a fan-driven campaign. In January 2020, they played their last shows in Brazil before shifting their primary focus to the United States. Based in Las Vegas, the group entered a new era, broadening its presence in the North American circuit through tours, releases, and performances alongside major names in global metal.

This international momentum grew even stronger with the release of Unleeched, their seventh studio album recorded in the U.S. and featuring a guest appearance by Marc Rizzo (ex-Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy). In the following years, the group ramped up its touring schedule, sharing the stage with Exciter, Exmortus, Generation Kill, Hatriot, and Crypta. In 2024, they reached another major milestone by joining the North American leg of Sepultura’s farewell tour alongside Obituary and Agnostic Front.

In 2027, Claustrofobia will finally reunite with Brazilian fans. Featuring a new lineup, a consolidated international reputation, and work underway on their highly anticipated eighth studio album, the band returns for a Bangers Open Air 2027 set that promises to fuse past, present, and future into a single explosion of heavy sound, energy, and attitude.
