TWISTED SISTER

Twisted Sister emerged in 1972, initially formed by guitarist Jay Jay French within the bar and club scene of New Jersey. After several lineup changes, the group found its definitive identity in 1976, when Dee Snider (vocals) and Eddie Ojeda (lead guitar) joined the band, marking the official beginning of the Twisted Sister the public came to know. With their extravagant look, rebellious attitude, and intense dedication to the stage, they became one of the most influential live acts of the late ’70s and early ’80s, paving the way for the international success that would follow with the rise of American hard/metal and MTV.

In 2026, Twisted Sister returns to celebrate fifty years of history with the worldwide tour “Twisted Forever, Forever Twisted”, which will stop in Brazil at Bangers Open Air. Guitarist Jay Jay French recalls that the band’s official journey began on February 2, 1976, at the small bar The Turtleneck Inn in Hunter Mountain, NY, and that reaching half a century while keeping the spirit of rebellion alive is a source of pride. Dee Snider stated that if a band is still in such high demand after five decades, there’s no way to ignore the call — and that Twisted Sister still wants, and will, hit the stage with full force.

The celebration marks the first major reunion since 2016 and brings back drummer Joe “Seven” Franco, who had not played with the group since the Love Is for Suckers (1987) album. Bassist Russell Pzütto, already known to fans from previous performances, also returns to the lineup, taking the place of Mark “The Animal” Mendoza.

The group returns with an impressive legacy that includes more than 35 million albums sold, tours in over 40 countries, induction into the Long Island Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Heavy Metal Hall of Fame in 2023, as well as iconic music videos and hits that became global anthems of rebellion. In 2026, fans of all generations will once again hear the shouts that marked eras: “I Wanna Rock” and “We’re Not Gonna Take It.” It will be the celebration of half a century of one of the most emblematic bands in hard rock and heavy metal, who left definitive works such as Under the Blade (1982), You Can't Stop Rock 'n' Roll (1983), Stay Hungry (1984), Come Out and Play (1985), and Love Is for Suckers (1987), as well as Still Hungry (2004) and A Twisted Christmas (2006). TWISTED FOREVER, FOREVER TWISTED.
