BLAZE BAYLEY

English singer Blaze Bayley will be one of the attractions at Bangers Open Air 2027, bringing to the festival a career defined by heavy metal, including his tenure with Iron Maiden and a solid solo career built over decades. Since 2014, Blaze has maintained a stable lineup for his backing band, comprised of musicians from the British melodic metal band Absolva: Christopher Appleton and Tom Atkinson (guitars), Luke Appleton (bass), and Martin McNee (drums).

Born in Birmingham, England, in May 1963, Blaze began his professional career in 1984 as the frontman for Wolfsbane. Worldwide recognition came when he took over lead vocals for Iron Maiden between 1994 and 1999, a period during which he recorded the albums The X Factor (1995) and Virtual XI (1998), as well as undertaking international tours with the band. Following his departure from Maiden, Blaze launched a successful solo career, releasing ten studio albums, in addition to live records, DVDs, and compilations.

Recognized as one of the most dedicated artists in the metal scene, he built a strong connection with his fans and gained prominence for his intense, high-energy live performances. In 2015, he celebrated the 15th anniversary of his debut solo album, Silicon Messiah, a milestone that sparked a new phase of international recognition in his career. Between 2016 and 2018, he released the Infinite Entanglement trilogy, one of the most ambitious works of his career.

In the following years, Blaze released the live recordings Live In France (2019) and Live In Czech (2020) on both album and DVD formats. During this period, he embarked on extensive tours across the UK, Europe, North America, and Latin America, consolidating his reputation as an independent artist close to his audience. The vocalist also starred in special moments alongside major metal names, such as performing "Baba O’Riley"—The Who's classic—with Disturbed at the 2016 Download Festival. He also shared the stage with Sweden's Sabaton in Poland for a rendition of "Man On The Edge," a classic from his Iron Maiden era, and was voted the 67th greatest singer of all time by Sweden Rock magazine.

Blaze Bayley emphasizes that Brazil holds a special place in his life and career. According to the singer, the country has always welcomed him ever since his arrival in Iron Maiden. "Brazil has held a special place in my heart since the Iron Maiden days because you welcomed me warmly as the new vocalist. No matter the situation, right from the start, I always found wonderful people willing to support me. When no one else gave a damn about me, Brazilian fans stayed by my side, coming to the shows," he once declared to Roadie Crew magazine.

In 2024, Blaze released his latest studio album, Circle Of Stone, followed by a promotional tour and the celebration of the classic Silicon Messiah, alongside special shows dedicated to his time with Iron Maiden. In 2027, the vocalist will return to Brazil—where he is always warmly received—and will undoubtedly deliver an unforgettable performance at Bangers Open Air.
